We'll definitely talk about the rest of the year, but before that, let's find out about the movies hitting the big screens in June 2022.
JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION:
Personally, every adult and kid loves this dinosaur-themed adventure movie. The aforementioned franchise title is none other than Jurassic World: Dominion, which says that this massive comeback will conclude the Jurassic World trilogy. How? According to the trailer and other resources, the story may be like reuniting the esteemed trio of scientists from the original Jurassic Park and teaming them up with the heroes of the more recent films. Oh, and the dinosaurs are more powerful than ever. They are now all over the Earth, which is totally a new adventure. So, why not add it to your favorite movies? Do it ASAP!
THE BLACK PHONE:
Horror fans usually get disappointed when watching a movie because there are very few films that fall under the category of horror and are actually scary. The Black Phone is based on a short story by Joe Hill and follows the supernatural theme. Back in September 2021, the film first premiered at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas. There, it got a lot of praise for the storyline and the amazing performance of Ethan Hawke.
The main character Hawke is playing the role of The Grabber, aka the main antagonist. He is notorious for "grabbing" children who have spoken his name aloud. Then comes the student named Finney. He gets abducted, and his sister starts having dreams about her missing brother and where he is being held. When Finney wakes up from a seductive, he finds himself in a soundproofed basement with a disconnected black phone hanging on the wall.
You'd bite your nails throughout the story, so make sure you have friends over for the support.
LIGHTYEAR:
It's the good news for animation fans. The year 2022 has everything combined, from superhero movies to animated sequels and horrors. Back in 2019, when the Toy Story 4 was released, nobody knew we'd get to see another part of it. But Pixar is now back with another entry and brings us the story of the "real" Buzz Lightyear. A much-loved space ranger that inspired the sentient toy we all know and admire.
Another reason for excitement is the Chris Evans voice for the titular character, and as reported, it'll be the first Pixar film to debut exclusively in theaters from 2020's onward. The Toy Story franchise is one of the most-awaited and the most beloved animated film series of all time, so get ready for another fun ride!
CRIMES OF THE FUTURE:
The title of the movie is taken from a 1970s movie, but it is not a remake.
David Cronenberg is back with another horror thriller, Crimes of the Future, where you'd see unnatural things happening on Earth. The movie is set in a time when the human species adapts to a synthetic environment, and thus their bodies undergo unusual transformations and mutations.
During the epidemic, a mysterious group tries to use Saul's name to shed light on the next phase of human evolution. The movie had already gained attention when it premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. Crimes of the Future received a six-minute standing ovation.
PRESS PLAY:
Press Play is a romantic drama movie that takes you into the fantasy world. It is directed by Greg Björkman. The movie follows Laura (Clara Rugaard) and Harrison (Lewis Pullman), who have a picture-perfect relationship and unconditional love for each other. DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS
The most awaited superhero movie is back with a bang in 2022. Doctor Strange is a horror-tinged entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is a surprising sequel where audiences find Doctor Strange venturing through the multiverse to save a young girl from the recently-turned-evil Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).
The sequel has already earned over $880 million worldwide. Audiences called "Doctor Strange 2," an entertaining and exhausting sequel that feels like a crazy ride.
HUSTLE:
Adam Sandler has been known for producing not-so-good movies since the comedian has worked on comedies like "Murder Mystery" and "Sandy Wexler." But now, the coin has been flipped.
Fortunately, Sandler's film career is about to get a shakeup with "Hustle." It is a movie where you'd see the real effects, great scenes, and an amazing story. Directed by Jeremiah Zagar, Hustle is quite far from the typical Sandler-Netflix movie, as you could expect. It is about a struggling NBA scout who gets a shot at redemption after discovering a young basketball phenom with a checkered past. The cast is worth-watching so give it a try!
WATCHER:
Watcher is a thriller movie that'll keep you hooked throughout the film. It is directed by Chloe Okuno, and the story follow follows Julia. She is an American woman who moves to Bucharest with her boyfriend, Francis. As she is new in the town and doesn't speak the common language, she becomes isolated while Francis is at work. With time, her mind starts making up stories in fear. She feels like there's a serial killer who is constantly watching her in the home. Watcher premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival and got an appreciation for the theme. Watch and find out if it lives up to the hype or not!
THE SIEGE OF ROBIN HOOD:
The movie comes with a rollercoaster ride of action and adventure. The movie goes around revenge. When the Sheriff of Nottingham's soldiers attack a family and kill them all, a young man named Robin vows bloody revenge on the man responsible. He knows he can't fight them back alone; he recruits a team of outcasts, rebels, and grumpy warriors; each has a grudge to settle with the Sheriff and an extreme fighting skill to match. It is a kind of movie where you can't take your eyes off for a second.
FIRST LOVE:
A cute love story to stream over the weekend this June is First Love. The film follows two high school teenagers, Jim (Fiennes Tiffin) and Ann (Park.) As they progress through life, they experience the highs and lows of their first love. With that, Jim's parents are dealing with a financial crisis which is affecting Jim greatly. It is a simple and light movie to watch.
